There really is nothing else quite like those first few weeks home with a new baby. Your days are now filled with feedings, diaper changes, and late night snuggles. You could watch his ever changing expressions for hours, listen endlessly to his murmurs and baby snores. His smell, those tiny toes, his whispy hair. The things you don’t want to forget. Some days can seem long and arduous, and there are always some moments of uncertainty mixed in but you push on, you kiss his tiny nose, and you fall deeper in love as you do.
Joey and Anneke. Madly in love and a pure joy to be in the presence of. I’m grateful to call these two friends.
Two years old and just loving life.
We ran like crazy. We played in the sand. We threw rocks into the lake.
We made funny faces, funny noises, and we laughed. We laughed a lot.
We simply let him be him, his whole sweet, silly, energetic self, and we all loved every minute of this session.
I adore this little guy and this ‘growing’ family!
Reed, such a sweet, curious little soul. One year old. Toothy smiles and wobbly legs, and all the love for his mama and daddy.
Exploring one of my favorite Milwaukee locations with this sweet fam! Snuggles, giggles, sticks & smiles all day.
Having children can do funny things to a person. Although I have always loved the holiday season, I have never embraced it quite as much as I do now that I am a mama. There is something about these tiny little humans that just brings out the magic of the seasons. Maybe it’s the joy of experiencing it all new through her eyes, her excitement, her wonder. Maybe it has something to do with the bittersweet hurt a parent feels watching their babies grow. That feeling of wanting to keep them little forever, to squeeze them tight and never let them go. Knowing very well just how quickly time is flying by.
This year we decided to head out to the tree farm to cut down our own tree. It was such a simple thing, yet it was wonderful and magical and I loved every minute.
My family is my everything. They have taught me so much, and they remind me daily what time is worth and what is truly most valuable in this life. These are the good times, and they’re only going to get better. I’m doing all I can to soak up every last second. Here’s to new family traditions and the magic of the holidays!
A big thanks to Stumpfs Tree Farm for the lovely experience!
You put your arms around me and I’m home.
Six months old and full of snuggles and smiles on this chilly day!
Sweet, silly, spunky and independent all rolled up into an adorable one year old little package.
Happy first Birthday sweet Eleanor!
These two sweet little guys just tug right at my mama heartstrings. Big brother is just the coolest little kid, not to mention the sweetest with his little baby bro. I just can’t get enough of this sweet family.
